In 2008, the Tinman Brewing Company got it's roots. It all started with a "Mr. Beer" kit for Christmas......How many of us homebrewers have said that? There were a few kits made, then the graduation to extract kits, then some really bad, "thought I knew what I was doing" experimentation. In 2010, I finally made the jump to all grain brewing, and haven't looked back since.
I belong to the Howard County Homebrewers Club, but my "home" is with the "Redneck Brewing Group" of Cass county Indiana. We are a loose knit group of homebrewers from all walks of life, joined together for a common goal : teach everyone how to brew (and do some wine and mead while we are at it). We usually find ourselves meeting a couple times a week at a member's house, porch, or barn. Our goal is not to swill beer, as the big commercial companys want us to do , but rather, we enjoy tasting, sampling, and comparing our craft. We find ourselves reading, teaching, and learning new ways to brew everyday.
It's funny that all of this started because of 1) we were tired of paying high prices for crappy beer, and 2) tired of paying high prices for good beer. We found that with a little diligence, we could produce great beer ALOT cheaper than we could buy. Our goal was to brew beer for 25 cents a bottle. We are still in pursuit of that goal. Meanwhile, we create some very tasty brew along the way.
I have created this webpage for the people interested in brewing and getting together to join in a common goal. This craft industry is growing leaps and bounds right now, and we promote it the best we can. We don't reserve ourselves to just homebrew. There are plenty of nano/micro brewerys and brewpubs out there to enjoy. What they brew inspires us, and we hope to be the cutting edge that inspires them, too.
